A bride in a white lace dress and a groom in a light suit embrace and smile at each other outdoors in a sunlit field at Villa Ulignano, beautifully captured by their wedding videographer, with trees and a rustic building in the background.

Hannah and Alex’s wedding at Villa di Ulignano felt like a slow, sunlit pause in Tuscany: a 17th-century villa set on its own hilltop, surrounded by gardens, tall trees, and wide-open views stretching between Volterra and San Gimignano
One of the reasons Ulignano works so well for destination weddings is the way it’s designed for time—real time together.
The villa is usually booked on an exclusive basis, bedrooms included, so it doesn’t feel like a space you “rent for a day,” but more like your own private home for a long weekend.
There are 15 bedrooms on-site (comfortably hosting around 30 guests, and up to about 40 with additional beds), making it easy to keep your closest people under one roof.
Then, for the main celebration, the venue suits intimate to mid-sized weddings, while still being able to accommodate up to roughly 120 guests when extra lodging is arranged nearby.
That’s what makes the wedding day flow so naturally: aperitivo in the garden, dinner with the villa as your backdrop, then dancing that simply moves from one area to another as the light shifts—no transfers, no interruptions, just a seamless progression through the property. And the practical side supports the same feeling. Minimum stays are typically three nights (and in peak season it can be a full week), which is exactly why weddings here tend to feel calm and unforced: no rushing, no squeezing everything into a few hours—just space to actually live it with the people you love. Planned with heart and impeccable taste by Rosy Strati (Wedding In Wonderland), Hannah and Alex’s day carried an effortless elegance—intimate moments, soft laughter, and that unmistakable Tuscan light that makes everything feel timeless.
