Wedding Photographer in Florence and Chianti | Wedding at Fattoria Villa di Rignana | Louise+Alexandre

A refined wedding in the heart of Chianti

Some weddings are memorable for their scale, others for their emotion, and others for the quiet strength of their style. Louise and Alexander’s wedding, celebrated between Panzano and Fattoria Villa di Rignana, belonged to that last category: elegant, young, beautifully composed, and still full of joy, wit, and movement.

They are a very young French couple with a strong sensitivity to fashion, to form, and to the overall tone of the day. Everything felt formal in the best possible sense: not stiff, but refined, balanced, and coherent. As a wedding photographer in Florence and a wedding photographer in Chianti, this is exactly the kind of celebration that allows storytelling to become both visual and emotional, shaped equally by landscape, light, and personality.

Fattoria e Villa di Rignana: one of the most beautiful wedding venues in Chianti

Fattoria e Villa di Rignana is located in Greve in Chianti and is officially presented as a historic estate surrounded by Tuscan hills, with spaces for events and receptions. The property includes the villa, agricultural areas, a private church, a panoramic pool, and the production of wine and olive oil; its official site also lists organic Chianti Classico wine among its products.

That combination of architectural refinement, agricultural identity, and open landscape is what makes Rignana so special. It is not simply a beautiful villa: it is a place with roots, rhythm, and character, and it allows a wedding to feel deeply connected to Tuscany. For couples looking for a wedding photographer in Chianti, it offers a rare variety of settings that still feel completely unified: the private chapel, the vineyards, the olive groves, the pool, and the more secluded corners of the estate.

Getting ready at Rignana and a church ceremony in Panzano

The day began at Rignana, where the couple got ready separately, each surrounded by family and close friends. From the beginning, the mood was exactly right: elegant, composed, and full of anticipation, but never distant. There was a youthful French sense of style in the air, perfectly matched by the Tuscan setting.

Afterwards, everyone moved to Panzano for the religious ceremony in the village church. The parish of Santa Maria Assunta is indeed located in Panzano, in the upper part of the village.

The ceremony was heartfelt and joyful, and at the end the friends sang together, as is often the case at French weddings. It was one of those moments that immediately defines the day: elegant, yes, but also warm, affectionate, and full of life.

Returning to Rignana in a yellow Fiat 500

After the ceremony, Louise and Alexander returned to Rignana in a yellow vintage Fiat 500, a perfect choice for a Tuscan wedding: iconic, playful, and stylish without taking itself too seriously. They wanted to do their portrait session right after the ceremony, in the middle of the afternoon.

In many venues that would be more complicated, but not at Rignana. Our experience there means we know the shaded corners, the more protected areas, and the times of day when the landscape still photographs beautifully even under stronger light. This is one of the things that really matters when working as a wedding photographer in Chianti: not just knowing a location visually, but understanding how it actually works in terms of light and timing.

The portraits with the 500, decorated with flowers by Marilù Fiori, felt both elegant and playful, perfectly in tune with the couple.

Working alongside Tie The Knot Wedding

The wedding was planned by Simona Pierfederici of Tie The Knot Wedding, whose official website presents her as a wedding planner in Italy focused on intimate, personal, and distinctive celebrations tailored to each couple.

She is a very special collaborator for us, because we have worked with her for many years and she knows Rignana extremely well. That experience shows in the way she brings out the best of the venue, builds the rhythm of the day, and always finds the most suitable solution for every situation. In a wedding of this size and elegance, her direction was visible everywhere, yet always with great discretion.

Poolside aperitivo and live music

After a second portrait session at sunset, the couple joined their guests for the aperitivo by the pool. The panoramic pool is one of the defining features of Rignana and part of what makes the estate so recognizable as a venue in Chianti.

At this point the atmosphere became even more relaxed and festive. Live musicians played while guests moved through the warm evening light and the open views over the hills. It was one of those moments when Chianti seems to do the work on its own: the breeze, the falling light, the landscape opening up, and the sense that the day is entering its most beautiful chapter.

An elegant dinner with Cavalieri Ricevimenti

Dinner was designed with real refinement: two long parallel rectangular tables, a neutral palette built around white, and simple yet very elegant floral decorations with olive branches. It was understated, precise, and perfectly suited to a couple with a love of fashion and clean lines.

The catering was by Cavalieri Ricevimenti, which presents itself as a company specialized in receptions and events.

With around 120 to 150 guests, the flow of the evening mattered enormously, and everything remained smooth and balanced. The couple made their entrance “in the French style”: strong music, high energy, and the two of them dancing their way between the tables while friends cheered and celebrated around them. It was a beautiful moment and a very accurate portrait of who they were: refined, but never restrained.

Bandanas, speeches, and dancing late into the night

During dinner, the speeches from friends were affectionate and ironic, and one of the most memorable details of the evening was the gift of two bandanas, one red and one yellow, which Louise and Alexander kept wearing through dinner and cake cutting. It was playful, personal, and very much in the spirit of their group.

Later the celebration moved to the dance floor on the semicircular terrace, one of Rignana’s most iconic spaces for the evening party. Music was by Francis Jay, a DJ who often collaborates with Simona, and from that point on the wedding continued late into the night.

Wedding photographer in Florence and Chianti for elegant weddings at Rignana

This wedding at Fattoria Villa di Rignana beautifully represents one of the most compelling sides of Chianti: the meeting point between the agricultural beauty of the Tuscan countryside, the refinement of a historic sixteenth-century villa, Italian conviviality, and a contemporary international aesthetic. The estate is officially presented as a historic villa and farm in Chianti, with events, organic wines, and panoramic hillside views.

Being a wedding photographer in Florence and a wedding photographer in Chianti means being able to tell the story of places like Rignana in their full beauty, without ever losing sight of what matters most: the people, the atmosphere, and the small details that make every wedding entirely its own.
